Artwork featured in October 2016 post has received its finishing touches. Slow turnaround was done to accommodate vacationing clients. Brighter, more resplendent colors lighten the mood and revert the dull and yellowed colors back to their original. The finished work has more depth, and the sky feels more alive.
Dirk Johannes van Haaren (1878-1953) lived and worked in Amsterdam, painting landscapes, horse scenes, river landscapes, and cityscapes. His preferred medium was oil, and also watercolor; and although known as a follower of the Hague School, he was self-taught. He became a member of Arti et Amicitiae and the Guild of Saint Luke.
