A water bath to loosen the cardboard backing on this Ox-bow watercolor and then the careful removal of it; cardboard, with acidic fibers, becomes very detrimental to works on paper. A number of tears were also tended to: repaired with rice adhesive and rice paper. Drying and flattening with blotters with weights to complete the repairs.
