van Haaren Harbor Scene

Dirk Johannes van Haaren (1878-1953) lived and worked in Amsterdam, painting landscapes, horse scenes, river landscapes, and cityscapes. His preferred medium was oil, and also watercolor; and although known as a follower of the Hague School, he was self-taught. He became a member of Arti et Amicitiae and the Guild of Saint Luke.

This Harbor Scene is on dry linen that will no longer lay flat. This has caused cupping. The work will need to be-relined, then cleaned and vanished. Stay tuned for finished photographs.
