Ellis Poem Paintings

Rosemary Ellis has uniquely combined the art of calligraphy with fractions of famous poems to create an immersive experience between viewer and the written word. This kind of calligraphy has its roots in the Islamic art of calligraphy, and in illuminated manuscripts. We believe it is closer to the Arabic style as there are no images used, just the flow of the lettering. The artist is sharing a flowing style to communicate parts of love poems.

We had the privilege of finishing this series for Rose with white gold frames, styled in a Dutch 17th Century form, reworked to be modern. We love the shape of the frame with the calligraphy as they echo each other.
